James joined Double A in 2010 from another corporate finance house where he had worked for a number of years. Previously to that he worked for Goldman Sachs. James has experience of managing transactions in a number of sectors and is involved in advisory roles to companies both in the UK and internationally. He grew up in Zimbabwe and holds a MBA (specialisation in finance) from Esade Business School, Barcelona and a B.A (Hons) in Politics and History from the University of London. James is a Senior Partner of the firm.
Rainer founded Double A in 2006 after leaving asset manager Hottinger & Co where he had been a partner and founder of the London operation. His career includes working for CIBC in Toronto, Paris and London and holding the position of Chief Executive of Arbuthnot Savory Milln. In the early 1990's he was appointed head of corporate finance in Buenos Aires of Deutsche Morgan Grenfell. On his return to London he was appointed Deputy Chairman of Matheson Bank and was also appointed Chairman of GTM-Global Trade Management - the trade finance subsidiary of Deutsche Bank. A graduate in Business Administration of the Universidad Catolica Argentina in Buenos Aires, he speaks German, Spanish, French and English. Rainer is a Senior Partner of the firm.
Sanford has worked in a range of senior positions most recently as Managing Director of Edmond de Rothschild Lease Asset Fund. Previous roles include being the Managing Director of Lazard Ventures, Managing Director of LG Fund Management responsible for assisting in the mass privatisation of Polish state corporations in the 1990's, Managing Director of the Hungarian American Enterprise Fund mandated by United States Congress to promote private equity opportunities in central Europe and Senior Adviser to Siguler & Guff on financial sector opportunities in Russia and the CIS. Sanford holds a Masters in Political Economy from the University of Michigan and BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Michigan State University. Sanford is an Associate Director of the firm.
Harry is an engineer and former academic having taught at universities in the UK and USA. His experience in corporate finance involved working for two major merchant banks in the City of London and advising government in major industry sectors such as power generation and shipbuilding. Over the past two decades he has chaired private companies in the engineering, oil and gas and farming sectors and advised companies in the chemical engineering and waste management industries. Harry is an Associate Director of the firm.
Jose Luis established his career with AES Gener and subsequently held a number of corporate finance roles with other organisations as well as acting as an independent practioner in Chile. He graduated from the Universidad Finis Terrae with a degree in Economics and attended Universidad de Chile and Esade Business School where he gained his MBA. Jose Luis is an Associate Director of the firm.
